AlwaysNotify is a private, invitation-only household notification service. This policy describes what information the service handles and how.
Solely to operate the service for your household: authenticating you, evaluating your household's rules against incoming content, routing alerts to the devices you registered, and showing your household its alert history. AlwaysNotify does not sell personal information and does not use it for advertising.
SMS and voice calls: with your consent, we send text messages and place automated voice calls to the mobile number you add yourself — household alerts, urgent escalation messages, scheduled reminders, and test notifications. Message frequency varies with your household's alert configuration. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message; a STOP reply also stops automated voice calls to that number.
AlwaysNotify uses Anthropic's AI models, acting as a service provider on our instructions, to classify unmatched incoming content against your household's rules, evaluate natural-language rule conditions, suggest and draft rules, and power the household copilot. The content sent for this processing depends on the feature: email sender/subject/snippet and calendar event details for alert classification; full email bodies only for rules where you explicitly enable body-aware matching; monitored Slack or text-message content when a rule you wrote requires it; and your own messages when you talk to the copilot. We do not use your personal information to train AI models, and we do not permit our AI provider to use it to train models made available to others. AI verdicts used for rule evaluation are retained for 90 days for reliability and then pruned automatically.
When you connect a Google account, AlwaysNotify requests the openid and userinfo.email scopes (to identify which account you connected) plus read-only access to Gmail and Google Calendar (the gmail.readonly and calendar.readonly scopes). We use that access only to provide the alerting features described in this policy: reading message metadata (and bodies only where you enable body-aware rules) and upcoming event details so your household's rules and alert classification can run. As described in AI processing, that content is also processed by our AI provider for those same purposes. Google account data is transferred only as necessary to provide these user-facing features, for security, or to comply with law; no human reads it except with your consent, for security, or to comply with law. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never used to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine-learning models. Access is read-only; the service cannot send email or modify your calendar.
AlwaysNotify does not sell personal information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not share, sell, or disclose your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in or opt-out status, or any information collected through SMS messaging to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Information is otherwise disclosed only to the service providers below acting on our instructions; to third-party tools you explicitly connect yourself (for example, an AI assistant you link through the MCP connector, which can then read and act on your household's alerts, TODOs, and reminders on your behalf); and to authorities or other parties where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or the service.
Delivery and infrastructure rely on established providers acting on our instructions: identity (WorkOS), hosting (Vercel), database (Neon), AI classification and copilot (Anthropic), SMS and voice (Twilio), email delivery and the household inbox (Resend), push delivery to your devices (Apple Push Notification service), connected-account content (Google), and team chat (Slack). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.
You can remove a notification address, disable a channel, disconnect a connected account, or leave the household at any time; reply STOP to any SMS to opt out of texts (this also stops automated voice calls to that number). Alert history is retained for the household's own reference and can be deleted on request. AI verdicts used for rule evaluation are retained for 90 days and pruned automatically. Where applicable law gives you additional rights — such as access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal information — you can exercise them by contacting us; the account-deletion flow below covers full deletion. AI usage and cost records carry a 90-day retention window; skill-invocation records and processed Slack event payloads (stored encrypted) are pruned automatically on their own short schedules.
You can delete your AlwaysNotify account from household Settings in the signed-in app (Delete my account). That removes your WorkOS identity, paired devices, notification addresses, and membership. Household records other members still need (shared alerts and TODOs) stay with the household. You can also email privacy@alwaysnotify.com and we will complete deletion on request.
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, application-level encryption of connected-account tokens and stored Slack event payloads, and authenticated access via WorkOS. No security measure is failsafe, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
AlwaysNotify is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and post the revised policy on this page.
